With the Dutch government planning to have 11.5GW of offshore wind in the North Sea by 2030 and the industry focused on cost reduction, innovations by SMEs are required in addition to economies of scale. Given the capital-intensive nature of the sector, it is almost impossible for entrepreneurs to successfully bring these innovations to the market with their own resources, Offshore Wind Innovators stated.

These Financial Services will make the entrepreneurs familiar with specific forms of financing, enable them to substantiate whether private financing is an option and increase the success rate on private investments.

To this end, Offshore Wind Innovators has entered into a partnership with Business Angel Connect, with several private financiers joining the community to subscribe to the importance of private financing for this group of entrepreneurs.

This is the first initiative in the Netherlands to connect entrepreneurs in the offshore wind industry and investors in this way.

In May and June of this year, Offshore Wind Innovators will hold informative and networking events to introduce the new initiative and to facilitate meetings between entrepreneurs and private investors.
