Jan De Nul, the company in charge of the installation, now has four turbines to erect by using its Vole au vent vessel to complete the project.

The wind farm features ten gravity base foundations, also installed by Jan De Nul earlier this month, soon followed by the first wind turbine going up.

According to the project schedule, the turbine installation will be completed by mid-July, with the subsea cables expected to be installed by the end of July.

The project is to be commissioned during the autumn of 2017.

The EUR 120 million Tahkoluoto project, developed by Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy, is the world’s first offshore wind farm designed for icy conditions.
