UK: ORPC to Announce Major Milestone for Cobscook Bay Tidal Energy Project

Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) will announce significant milestone reached in the Cobscook Bay Tidal Energy Project.

ORPC President & CEO Chris Sauer will be joined by Senator Angus S. King, Jr. and Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition President Sean O’Neill for the announcement which will be made during the kick-off for the 6th annual Global Marine Renewable Energy Conference.

In September 2012, The Cobscook Bay Tidal Energy Project marked the first time that power from any ocean energy project — including offshore wind, wave and tidal – was delivered to the grid in the United States.
