UK: Donald Trump Takes Another Step Against EOWDC
Trump Organisation executive vice president George Sorial has revealed that he had instructed UK lawyers Dundas & Wilson to officially request a public inquiry from Marine Scotland regarding the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) project, according to Herald Scotland.
After calling for an inquiry for a year, Donald Trump has made this last move with a warning that he could delay the offshore wind project for a decade through legal fights, if Marine Scotland does not agree to this request.
“If Marine Scotland does not agree to our request for an inquiry, we will seek a judicial review of the decision which I understand could take at least a year,” Mr. Sorial is quoted by Herald Scotland as saying.
He added: “When you consider that one man with limited resources was able to hold up the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route for 10 years, and compare that with an organisation like ours with experience in legal matters, you will see that we have the resources to hold this up for a very long time.”
Mr. Trump is fighting against the construction of the EOWDC, which is planned to be built near his golf course.
