Denmark: Copenhagen to Host EWEA Offshore 2015

Copenhagen to Host EWEA Offshore 2015

The world’s largest wind energy network, the European Wind Energy Association, will hold its 2015 offshore wind conference and exhibition in Copenhagen. Motivating factors for selecting Copenhagen was a strong and unified partnership behind the Danish bid as well as Denmark’s pioneering position within offshore wind.

Copenhagen has been chosen as host city for the EWEA Offshore 2015 ahead of competing candidate cities such as Stockholm, Amsterdam and Paris. EWEA Offshore takes place every second year and focuses exclusively on the offshore wind market and associated services and products.

“It is fantastic news for Denmark and the Danish wind industry that EWEA Offshore will be hosted in Denmark in 2015. A lot of hard work and diligence has been invested in making this happen. I owe great thanks to our collaborative partners at State of Green, Copenhagen Municipality, Wonderful Copenhagen and Bella Center. Without their cooperation, we could not have brought EWEA Offshore to Copenhagen again”, says Jan Hylleberg, CEO at the Danish Wind Industry Association.

 A Nexus for Wind

The EWEA 2015 offshore event will hold an extensive number of activities for conference delegates and visitors interested, or active in the offshore wind sector, to source the latest technologies, services and advice from key experts in the sector.

“Denmark is a nexus for offshore wind energy and companies located here are able to deliver end-to-end solutions throughout the entire offshore wind power value chain. As the global wind power hub, we hope to continue the current trend at EWEA Offshore events by setting yet another visitors record here in Copenhagen in 2015”, says Finn Mortensen, Executive Director at State of Green.
