Offshore Center Danmark were represented at the conference and on the program with a presentation about the Danish experience with offshore wind and ideas on how the French and Danish industries could benefit from each other.
During the conference member of the National Assembly of France, Daniel Fidelin, revealed the most recent status of the upcoming French offshore wind tender. According to Daniel Fidelin, the first tender round of 3 GW will be opened by July 14. The round is open until January 2012 and the winners are decided by April 2012. The second round of additional 3 GW is expected to open by April 2012. Daniel Fidelin made no effort to hide the ambitions with entering the offshore wind market were to create French jobs, but he also admitted that France could benefit from the knowledge of other offshore wind nations, including Denmark.
During the conference, Offshore Center Danmark invited the French businesses to participate in OWIB 2011, were they will have the opportunity to meet with the rest of the international offshore wind industry for pre arranged Business2Business meetings.
