The goal of the forum is to facilitate the introduction of offshore wind developers and suppliers to local companies that are potential suppliers and service providers to the offshore wind industry.

The forum will include one-on-one matchmaking sessions with developers and suppliers from companies such as Bladt, Deepwater Wind, EEW, Equinor, Fred Olsen, GE, MHI Vestas, Ørsted, Siemens Gamesa, Smulders, US Wind, Ventower, and Vineyard Wind.

The event will also host discussions on a 2030 forecast for US offshore wind, and on how to translate European supply chain experiences to New York.

NYSERDA plans to hold the state’s first offshore wind solicitation to procure 800MW of capacity by the end of this year, with a second solicitation potentially to be organised in 2019.

The state’s overall goal is to develop 2,4GW of offshore wind by 2030.
