Germany: Grout Connections at Nordsee Ost Move below Water

Germany Grout Connections at Nordsee Ost Move Below Water

Together with RWE Innogy, FoundOcean is currently working on the 48-jacket Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm in the German sector of the North Sea.

The project teams are undertaking onshore trials to investigate effective ways of speeding up the foundation installation process. One option under consideration is moving to a subsea connector that will allow the grout material, Masterflow® 9500, to be delivered directly to the annulus.

FoundOcean has an extensive track record of working subsea and this experience means that more options can be explored to enable faster grouting times.

In such circumstances FoundOcean’s 3–inch ROV grout connectors would be fabricated onto the sleeves of the remaining jackets and, with the aid of ROVs, the grout umbilicals will then be deployed from the vessel directly to this subsea connector.
