Fishermen’s Energy Retains its CEO (USA)

Fishermen’s Energy has retained Chris Wissemann as its new Chief Executive Officer. Wissemann is one of the leading executives in the North American offshore wind industry, having been a founder of Deepwater Wind and recently having led Great Lakes Wind Energy, LLC.

Wissemann brings his 29 years of experience as a manager, executive and developer in the energy industry to round out Fishermen’s management team. Wissemann began his career in the energy industry as a project manager after graduating from Brown University in 1983.

Chris Wissemann, founder and former Managing Director of Deepwater Wind and past President of Garden State Offshore Energy, led the initial development of Deepwater’s 28 megawatt (MW) Block Island demonstration project and Garden State’s 350 MW proposal to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

“We are pleased to add Chris and his real experience to our management team,” said Daniel Cohen, Fishermen’s President and Founder. “Chris has been active in developing offshore wind concepts and proposals since 2005. Adding Chris’s experience to our leadership team, we are confident we will build America’s first grid connected offshore windfarm.”

“I am thrilled to be coming back to New Jersey to work in partnership with State government, local businessmen and stakeholders to bring the many benefits of offshore wind to New Jersey and its electric consumers,” said Wissemann. “Fishermen’s Energy is poised to lay the foundation for a new homegrown industry.”
