Palfinger Marine Nets Merkur Crane Deal

Palfinger Marine has won a contract for delivery of 66 PSM 400 cranes to the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

Merkur will feature 66 Haliade 150-6MW wind turbines installed around 45 kilometres off Borkum. Merkur Offshore GmbH is the developer and the future operator of the wind farm.

The turbines will be supplied by GE Renewable Energy (Alstom) and installed by DEME. The build-up will be finalised in 2019.

For these wind turbines, Palfinger Marine has signed a contract for 66 PSM 400 stiff boom cranes with Alstom Wind France SAS. All cranes will be delivered and mounted by September 2017.

The electro-hydraulic stiff boom cranes are DNV GL approved and are fitted with the the radio remote control.
