Robust low cost offshore power curve tests with lidar detail page

This webinar will review industry experience and case studies that illustrate these methods and will discuss guidelines and procedures that are available to support their adoption and implementation.  Power curve tests compare wind resource with the power generated by a wind turbine using that resource. They are necessary for checking the performance of wind turbines. The challenge associated with conducting these tests offshore arises due to the relatively high cost of acquiring the necessary wind data compared to onshore circumstances. The high cost offshore can mean tests are not conducted even though
• relatively novel turbine technology,
• high levels of investment and
• less well understood conditions
make the need for these tests more rather than less urgent.
