BSH Moves Geological Modelling Tender Dates

Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has pushed back the deadlines for the tender for geological modelling and reporting on wind areas in the North and Baltic Seas.

BSH originally set the deadline for submission of requests to participate to 30 March. This has now been moved to 7 April.

Subsequently, the initially estimated date of sending invitations to tender to selected applicants has been changed from 6 April to 14 April.

Furthermore, the starting date for the work scheduled to be carried out under the awarded contract(s) has been moved from 1 May to 1 June 2020. The contract end date remains 15 November 2020.

Geological models and reports will be created as part of preliminary geological investigations at the N-3 zone in the German North Sea, and the O-1 zone in the German Baltic Sea.

The scope of work includes the transfer of hydroacoustic and seismic data, taking geotechnical information into account, into a three-dimensional engineering geological depth model and the preparation of the geological report for North Sea areas N-3.5, N-3.6, N-3.8 and, separately, N-3.7, as well as for the O-1.3 area in the Baltic Sea.

Earlier in March, BSH designated the N-3.7 and N-3.8 areas in the North Sea and O-1.3 area in the Baltic Sea as suitable for accommodating offshore wind farms. This was announced as part of BSH’s preliminary examination of the suitability of the three areas in accordance with the German Offshore Wind Act, and is now subject to public comment.
