SCHOTTEL Propulsion for Bibby WaveMaster Horizon

SCHOTTEL has provided propulsion units for Bibby Marine Services’ new service operations vessel (SOV) Bibby WaveMaster Horizon.

According to SCHOTTEL, Bibby WaveMaster Horizon is driven by three rudder propellers and two bow thrusters.

With two Rudderpropellers type SRP 460 FP featuring an input power of 2,150kW each and a propeller diameter of 2.6m at the stern, the vessel will reach a top speed of 13kn, the company added.

At the bow, two Transverse Thrusters type STT 4 FP, 860kW each, and one 860kW Retractable Rudderpropeller type SRP 260 RT complete the propulsion package.

Bibby WaveMaster Horizon is Bibby Marine Services’ second Damen Accommodation Support Vessel (ASV) 9020, the first being Bibby WaveMaster 1. It has a deadweight of 2,300t, deck space of 425m² and accommodation for 60 people.

The 90m long vessel started working on the EnBW Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms in October, at which it will provide O&M services.
