Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC), SeaRenergy and Con4Mare have joined forces to form a one-stop-shop cooperation for the offshore wind industry.

All companies will remain independent but will offer their services through the other in their respective country.

The scope of services comprises Transport & Installation Engineering Services, Marine Consultancy, Marine Warranty Survey, as well as the provision of Offshore Specialists.

Whereas SMC has a long track record in offshore projects mainly in Great Britain, SeaRenergy and Con4Mare have a strong track record in the German sector, the companies said in a press release.

“Combining both German and British aspects, especially regarding engineering and Marine Warranty Survey, we are confident that our cooperation gives us a stronger position in the British market,” said Ian Coates , Managing Director of SMC. “With this package, we have a unique offering for the British market.”

By entering this cooperation, SeaRenergy will broaden its scope of services by offering the full package of Marine Coordination and Marine Consultancy of SMC, including the Atlas Marine Coordination Software in Germany. SMC will include the full range of engineering and consultancy services into their scope of services and will also be able to strengthen their footprint in Marine Warranty Survey with the know-how and experience of Con4Mare, the companies explained.

“Over the last six years we have seen many ups and downs in the German offshore wind market. It is our strong believe that the uncertainty will continue until government has decided what to do after 2020. Therefore, we will see consolidations and professionalisation over the next years to come,” Jan Steffens , Managing Director of SeaRenergy, said. “Provided with SMC’s hands on software solution Atlas and their know-how and experience in Marine Consultancy and Marine Coordination, we make a big step ahead of our competitors.“
