The G9 has developed two good practice guidelines for working at height and the management of small service vessels used in the offshore wind industry.
Together with Energy Institute, the guidelines were published at an Stakeholder Forum event on 2 December.
Benj Sykes, Head of Asset Management, DONG Energy Wind Power, and Chairman of the G9 Board of Directors, said: “The publication of these guidelines represents a significant milestone for us but is only the start. Together with the other members of G9, I look forward to working with our colleagues in our own organisations and in the supply chain to see these guidelines implemented, improving safety on our offshore wind farms.”
The guideline draws upon existing standards and practices in the maritime industry and offshore oil and gas sector, while seeking to take account of and reflect the unique aspects of working in the offshore wind industry.
