Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is looking for a Project Management , Engineering and Specialist Advisory services provider for its Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site (AMETS).

Namely, SEAI plans to develop a test site, located off Annagh Head, which would be focused on wave energy.

The lease application for this project was submitted in December 2011, while the decision is expected during early 2014. The decision was delayed due to inclusion of a portion of the area of interest in a proposed new Special Area of Conservation (SAC) for bottle-nose dolphins, for which a new assessment on the potential impact was needed.

The project will involve deploying wave energy converters such as those of Wavebob, Pelamis, Ocean Energy Limited and Ocean Power Technologies in deep water, where they will be anchored and connected to the grid via submarine electricity cables installed between the test areas and the proposed onshore electricity substation.
