Mansell to Build New Facilities for Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm

Mansell has won a contract worth £2.6 million with Scira Offshore Energy Ltd to build new facilities providing support for Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm.

The development at Egmere, Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk, includes a two-storey office block, warehouse, car park and bike shelter and Mansell will also carry out landscaping and widening of the existing road.

Sustainable features include low-energy lighting, a green roof to promote biodiversity and reduce rainwater run-off, enhanced insulation, grey water recycling to flush toilets, ground source heat pumps, and PV panels for hot water and electricity.

The design is expected to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.

Work has just commenced and is expected to complete in autumn 2012.
