AdBm Reveals Butendiek Noise Mitigation Test Data
AdBm Technologies released a report on its recent offshore demonstration at the Butendiek offshore wind farm.
A demonstration of the AdBm Technologies underwater noise abatement system was conducted on 11–12 July, 2014 in partnership with WPD and Ballast Nedam.
During pile driving operations for monopiles BU 32 and BU 21, a peak reduction of almost 40 dB and an overall reduction near 20 dB was achieved.
Acoustic testing was conducted at three locations ranging from 285 meters to 750 meters from the monopile being driven.
AdBm believes their system alone will be enough to meet the sound exposure limit of 160 dB set by the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH).
