Tidal Transit Wins Work Force New Anglia Award

Tidal Transit has recently received a Highly Commended Work Force New Anglia Award having taken full advantage of a grant from the £2 million European Social Fund Project to update workforce skills.

The project was led by the College of West Anglia which came together with five further colleges across Norfolk and Suffolk and three private providers to form an organisation known as the New Anglia Colleges.

The aim of the project is to help small companies and their employees to access a range of qualifications and training. Eligibility for the scheme is that the company has fewer than 250 employees and is based in Norfolk or Suffolk; employees must be aged 19 or over, have lived in the EU for past 3 years, and have qualifications at Level 2 or below.

Leo Hambro, Commercial Director at Tidal Transit, and the employees who participated in the scheme, received the award from Susie Masson from the College of West Anglia. Hambro commented: “Five of our employees took part in an IT training course over a period of 3 months. It covered topics such as word processing, spread sheets, databases and presentations. We were also able to purchase additional training units that helped them to achieve a Level 2 qualification. I am extremely proud of their achievements, and was delighted that Tidal Transit was presented with the ‘Highly Commended’ award.”
