Forty-nine wind turbines have been installed at the Dogger Bank B offshore wind farm site in the UK, according to the latest mariners' notice issued by the project team.
Jan De Nul’s wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) Voltaire installed the first of Dogger Bank B's 95 GE Haliade-X 13 MW turbines in March this year, shortly after completing work on Dogger Bank Wind Farm's first phase, Dogger Bank A.
The vessel will soon be joined by WTIV Seaway Ventus, under a contract Seaway7 signed with the Dogger Bank Wind Farm joint venture (SSE Renewables, Equinor, and Vårgrønn) in 2024.
According to the recently issued mariners' notice, Seaway Ventus is scheduled to arrive at the Dogger Bank B site on 9 October. The vessel's AIS data available online shows Seaway Ventus arrived at the Port of Nigg a couple of days ago.
Earlier this year, GE Vernova announced that it selected Maraen Port of Nigg in Scotland as the marshalling port for wind turbine components for Dogger Bank B and C, after using Able Seaton Port in Hartlepool for wind turbine installation at Dogger Bank A, and initially also Dogger Bank B.
According to information about the project shared earlier, the installation of Dogger Bank B wind turbines will continue until approximately the second quarter of 2027.
The 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm will comprise a total of 277 wind turbines: 190 Haliade-X 13 MW turbines at Dogger Bank A and B, and 87 Haliade-X 14 MW turbines at Dogger Bank C.
Wind turbine installation at Dogger Bank C is scheduled to begin next year.
