IOG Wind Secures Hai Long O&M Contract in Taiwan

Business & Finance

IOG Wind, formerly known as CWind Taiwan, has secured an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for the Balance of Plant (BoP) for the 1 GW Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan.

The scope will cover inspections of newly installed offshore substations, as well as performing inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transition pieces, subsea foundations, and other structural components.

Further works, including subsea cable inspections and onshore substation operations, are planned to commence soon.

This is IOG Wind’s second long-term O&M contract since its establishment in 2018 and the first since becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of International Ocean Group in 2023.

“Now, as we move toward grid connection and prepare to enter the O&M phase, we are confident that IOG Wind’s strong technical expertise and mature management capabilities will ensure the stable, safe, and efficient operation of the Hai Long wind farm after commercial operation, while also supporting the long-term development of Taiwan’s offshore wind supply chain,” said Tim Kittelhake, CEO and Project Director of the Hai Long Project.

The 1,022 MW Hai Long project comprises two offshore wind farms, split into three sites: Hai Long 2a, Hai Long 2b, and Hai Long 3.

In August 2025, CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), using its heavy lift vessel Green Jade, installed all jacket foundations at the site located about 45-70 kilometres off the Changhua coast in the Taiwan Strait.

The company recently also completed the installation of wind turbines at Hai Long 2.

The electricity generated by the Siemens Gamesa 14-222 DD wind turbines has been gradually connected to Taipower’s grid since June this year.
