The Netherlands-based logistics company, Mammoet, and Samyang Marine Group have entered into a partnership to provide heavy lifting and transport solutions for South Korea’s offshore wind sector.
The collaboration is set to establish Offshore Service Port (OSP) facilities to serve projects across sectors in South Korea, with a primary focus on upcoming offshore wind projects.
The partnership will integrate full-spectrum terminal management, including handling, staging, marshaling, and stevedoring services, with heavy lifting and installation capabilities.
The OSPs, located in Busan and Masan Ports, will cater to projects in South Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific region, said the partners.
According to the companies, the partnership responds to the need for an enhanced offshore wind supply chain and services to meet the targets outlined in South Korea’s Renewable Energy 3020 implementation plan, which includes 14.3 GW of offshore wind by 2030.

Recently, the Dutch company launched the SK6000 ring crane, said to be the world’s strongest land-based crane, at its Westdorpe facility in the Netherlands. According to Mammoet, the new crane supports the continued constructability of next-generation offshore wind turbines and foundations.
