HeliService International has won the tender TenneT organised to procure helicopter services for its offshore converter platforms, as well as the offshore substations of wind farm operators , in Germany .

According to the call for tenders issued in March, the contract will be in effect from 1 January 2023 until 31 March 2025, and includes an option to be renewed by further two years and two times by a year.

The German helicopter services provider will perform regular on-demand flights at the request of TenneT or an affiliated company to support the transport and installation phase of a project, or the inspection, maintenance, and repair works.

Helicopters will carry personnel and equipment to the offshore platforms and installation vessels, or other suitable vessels in the German North Sea.

For maintenance purposes, people and, if necessary, cargo will be transported to the platforms, both in the case of offshore grid connection platforms and those installed by offshore wind farm operators.

The contract for HeliService International comes a few months after the company won its first offshore wind contract in the US, where it will support crew transfer and hoisting at Ørsted and Eversource’s South Fork Wind, Revolution Wind, and Sunrise Wind offshore wind farms during construction.
