Rostock-based company EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH has received an order from the Swedish energy group Vattenfall to produce 41 monopiles for Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord wind farms in the Danish North Sea.
The contract was signed on 19 November 2021, EEW SPC said.
Between April 2022 and August 2022, EEW SPC will process a total of around 25,500 tons of steel for the order.
”We are delighted that, following on from the order for the Kriegers Flak project, we can now also produce the monopiles for the Vesterhav project. Even if the COVID numbers are currently rising sharply, we have managed to bring the contract negotiations to a successful conclusion through having online meetings. We would like to thank Vattenfall for the trust that they have placed in us and we look forward to working with them in a mutually good cooperation here too,” said Heiko Mützelburg , CEO of EEW SPC.
Earlier this month, Vattenfall ordered the transition pieces for the two wind farms at Denmark’s Bladt Industries.
Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord have a combined capacity of 344.4 MW. Vattenfall plans to commission the two wind farms at the end of 2023.
