TPC Changhua Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm Enters Trial Operation

Taiwan Power Company (TPC; Taipower) has started trial operation of its 109.2 MW Changhua Phase 1 offshore wind farm, after the project’s 21 wind turbines were cable-connected.

The developer is currently conducting tests to make any necessary adjustments, following which the company will apply for a post-completion inspection and subsequently for a power generation licence, according to an update from the company on 28 August.

Construction of the TPC Changhua Phase 1 started in September 2018 with onshore cable works.

Jan De Nul, using the installation vessel Taillevent, installed the first of the total of 21 the Hitachi 5.2 MW wind turbines in September 2020 and completed the work in June of this year.
