Dogger Bank Wind Farm has signed the contract with OHT to transport and install foundations for the second phase of the world’s largest wind farm – the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm and OHT signed the contract for the 1.2 GW Dogger Bank A phase in July. The new contract covers the same work scope for the 1.2 GW Dogger Bank B.
The foundations will be transported and installed by OHT’s newbuild vessel Alfa Lift which is currently under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) shipyard in China.
Alfa Lift will transport and install all monopile foundations and transition pieces for each of the two 1.2GW phases of the project between 2022 and 2024.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm is being developed by SSE Renewables and Equinor, with first power expected in 2023.
The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank A and B reaching financial close, which is expected in late 2020.
