TÜV Süd Industrie Service GmbH has won a contract to provide testing services on selected systems across TenneT’s offshore grid connections in the German North Sea.
Under the terms of the contract, TÜV Süd Industrie Service will carry out periodic inspections of elevator systems, pressure vessels, systems with explosion hazards, technical fire protection, systems for ventilation technology, and cranes.
Upon request, tests are to be carried out before commissioning and after significant changes, as well as expert opinions and technical assessments. These are to be carried out both onshore and offshore.
TenneT operates an offshore grid connection system in the German North Sea with an operating capacity of over 6.2GW.
The offshore grid system consists of 11 operating grid connections, with two 900MW connections currently under construction.
