SSE Renewables is holding Meet the Buyer events for its Seagreen offshore wind farm in Scotland.

SSE said the objective of the events is to enable businesses to gear up to bid for contracts, meet the Seagreen team, its principal contractors, and understand the opportunities on offer.

The events will be held on 5 November in Inverness, 6 November in Aberdeen and 7 November in Dundee.

Additionally, SSE Renewables emphasized it is urging Scottish businesses to bid for a host of contracts ahead of construction of the Seagreen project.

“Seagreen represents one of the most significant construction projects ever undertaken in Scotland and we want members of the Scottish supply chain to have the opportunity to work with us. We will be holding events across the country to promote opportunities for local companies to work with the project,” said John Hill , Seagreen Project Director at SSE Renewables.

To remind, the Seagreen Phase 1 project was selected in the UK’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round 3. Located 27km off the Angus Coast in the Firth of Forth, the project secured a 15-year contract for 454MW at a strike price of GBP 41.61/MWh in auction delivery year 2024/25.

The wind farm will feature 114 MHI Vestas turbines, while the Montrose Port is the preferred location for the project’s O&M base.
