The wind turbines are being installed at the site some 120 kilometres offshore Yorkshire by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up vessel Bold Tern and A2Sea’s Sea Challenger.

The first turbine was installed in February 2019 and the first power was delivered to the UK grid shortly thereafter.

The 1,214MW Hornsea Project One wind farm is expected to come fully online in 2020.

The wind farm is owned by Ørsted (50%), also the developer of the project, and Global Infrastructure Partners (50%).
