According to the UK company, the project was conducted from concept design through procurement, manufacture and final loadout within five months with zero HSE or quality issues.

The activities were done for Boskalis, who is in charge of supplying, installing, burying, terminating, and testing 79 33kV inter-array cables on the 497MW wind farm. The company is also responsible for the inter-array cable works on the adjacent 112MW Albatros, as well as for interconnecting the two projects.

Boskalis Subsea’s cable laying vessel Stemat Spirit recently began laying the inter-array cables on Hohe See some 95km north of Borkum and 100km northwest of Helgoland.

Hohe See will feature 71 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines slated for full commissioning by 2019.
