Van Oord’s vessel Aeolus has been outfitted with an aluminium helideck from Bayards Aluminium Constructions, as part of the modification of the vessel that started last year.
“Thanks to the short lines of communication between Van Oord and Bayards the project went smoothly from start to finish,” said Pieter van Beurden , Production Manager at Bayards Aluminium Constructions.
This follows the installation of the vessel’s brand new 1,600-tonne Huisman crane in February, and the delivery of an accommodation block and a Helicopter Operation Reception Room Facility (HeliLounge) built by Holland Shipyards.
Van Oord and Damen signed a vessel modification contract for Aeolus in March 2017, after Van Oord decided for an upgrade to ensure that the vessel remains competitive in a rapidly changing market.
