German law firm Kapellmann und Partner Rechtsanwälte, on behalf of Gobal Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH, has invited helicopter services providers to tender for the transport of passengers and cargo to and from the 400MW offshore wind farm.

The services would be delivered for Global Tech I and, optionally, to other neighbouring offshore wind farms.

The contracted service provider will carry out helicopter flights for the regular transport of persons and cargo, including dangerous goods, from Emden to the offshore wind farm and back.

At least one round-trip flight will be undertaken regularly on a fixed weekday, with an option for additional flights once or twice per week.

The transport requirements in each case include approximately 4 to 10 persons plus luggage, as well as additional cargo and thus a payload of approximately 500kg to 1,100kg.

The deadline for applications is 16 October. Invitations to tender will be dispatched to selected candidates on 23 October 2017.

Global Tech I went into operation in 2015.

It comprises 80 AREVA M5000-116 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5 megawatts, installed over roughly 41 square kilometre area located approximately 140 kilometres northwest of Emden in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
