The Hornsea Project One offshore substation Z13 arrived at Bladt Industries’ site in Aalborg last week, the company informed via social media, where it also published a photo of the first load out of its share of the Walney Extension transition pieces.

The Z13 substation is the second structure for DONG Energy’s 1.2GW Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the UK that Bladt welcomed at its Aalborg site, after the Z12 substation arrived at the site at the beginning of March .

Bladt is in charge of delivering three substation topsides for the project. The company is executing the contract in cooperation with Semco Maritime. DONG has also contracted Bladt to supply 96 transition pieces for the wind farm.

Bladt also loaded out the first transition pieces it produced for the 660MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm, also developed by DONG Energy in the UK.

For the 87-turbine project, Bladt Industries is producing 47 transition pieces, while the remaining 40 are being delivered by Offshore Structures (Britain), a joint venture between EEW SPC and Bladt Industries.

The Walney Extension wind farm will consist of 40 8MW MHI Vestas and 47 7MW Siemens wind turbines.
