More than 100 mattresses have been installed at the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm during the past 3 weeks, as reported by HvS Dredging Support, whose multi-purpose DP 2 vessel Zwerver II is deployed at the site.
The vessel is being utilized by DeepOcean, which is carrying out the mattress installation using its Intelligence Mattress Installation Frame, with Jan De Nul Group in charge of the installation and burying of the 25km long export cable between the wind farm’s offshore substation and the beach.
Zwerver II also supported the pull-in of the export cable.
The vessel was built by Gebroeders Kooiman shipyard in Zwijndrecht, according to HvS Dredging Support’s design.
