Seawork International, a three-day commercial marine and workboat exhibition, opened its doors for the nineteenth successive time in Southampton on Tuesday, 14 June.

The exhibition has been moved to its new permanent home at Mayflower Park, which was unveiled today. The new location has enabled Seawork to expand its offerings to the anticipated 7,500 attendees, which includes over 70 vessels and craft afloat, two purpose-built exhibition halls, plus waterside features and exhibits.

Seawork will be host to a number of events, demonstrations, seminars and product launches. Vessels being unveiled today include; Palfinger Boats’ PM110 G RIB, Exeter Fabrications’ 19m steel landing craft, Goldfish Boats’ M12 RHIB and the Parker Baltic Cruiser.

Product debuts include Hella’s the Rodon 100 cordless underwater drill/driver, Harken’s LokHead Winch mounting plate, the Seahawk XLB, Spinlock’s Deckvest Duro lifejacket, and Lume-On LED technology, Kort Propulsion’s new Groove design RotaChock Mount, and Unique Seaflex UK’s 100T WaterLoad Crane testing bag. Duodrivetrain will also officially launch its contra-rotating propulsion system, and James Fisher Marine will be demonstrating its unexploded ordnance UXO solutions.

Commercial marine professionals visit Seawork from 70 countries worldwide, involved in a range of sub-sectors including, marine civils, ship building, training, wind farm operations, safety, aquaculture, defence, diving, amongst others.

The Seawork Innovations Showcase, sponsored by URICA and located in the Atlantic Hall, will display around 50 entries ranging from load testing, to vessels, through to training, safety, apparel and propulsion.

These will be judged this afternoon by Mercator Media’s panel of judges, with the category and overall winner unveiled at the Seawork Innovations Awards and Networking event, which is being held at The Vestry in Southampton this evening.
