Red Marine has reported that it delivered a new series of subsea clamps for installation at an offshore wind farm in the UK last month.
The project required the turnkey development of a bespoke clamp unit, from initial concept development, through to prototype testing and manufacturing of 4 x production units, Red Marine said, adding that prototype testing at its test facility enabled the engineering team to review, develop and de-risk the proposed installation methodology with the client team.
The clamps, which have a lifespan of 25 years, will be installed this spring.
Offshore WIND contacted Red Marine to find out which wind farm was in question, however, the company decided to leave the project and its client unnamed. In its press release, Red Marine said the client was a leading energy company and the project was one of the largest offshore wind farms in the UK.
