Energinet.dk has started the repair work on Anholt offshore wind farm export cable.

The Danish transmission system operator is replacing two sections of the cable, the first 400 meters of the submarine cable from Grenå and the last 4 km before the substation.

To remind, the 400MW Anholt offshore wind farm went offline on 21 February for four weeks due to a faulty cable. The replaced piece of cable was sent to the laboratory where it underwent an investigation to determine the cause of damage.

Following the investigation, Energynet.dk, together with NKT Cables, identified there is a risk of error in these parts of cables.

“It is still too early to say when the repair will be complete. It depends on the weather the next few days,” said the company.
