A chemical store that is part of Vestas’ facility for the development of large wind turbine blades on Isle of Wight caught fire today afternoon.
After receiving a call around 3 pm, three firefighting crews have been working on containing the blaze using a breathing apparatus and a hose, the local media reported.
Vestas’ Isle of Wight facility comprises two large halls, one for testing and verification and one for blade manufacturing, the latter being leased by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.
