RWE Close to Securing Galloper Financing

Germany’s energy company is planning to close a financial deal for its GBP 1.3 billion Galloper offshore wind project by “either October or November,” said Hans Buenting, RWE Innogy’s chief executive.

According to the Reuters, RWE is close to making a deal with three partners which would leave it with 25% stake in the project.

Earlier this year, RWE said: “The objective is to secure Financial Close during the second half of 2015, which will then enable onshore construction to begin before the end of the year.”

The 336MW Galloper offshore wind farm, located 27km off the coast of Norfolk, is expected to use 56 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines.
