Offshore WIND’s photo of the day: Westermeerwind wind farm reaches a half point in the foundation installation.
Namely, the ‘De Schelde’ pontoon, topped by a Liebherr crane 11350, installed the 24th foundation pile yesterday.
The 35-meter long foundation piles, weighing around 250 tons, are being transported from Vlissingen to the project site, 500m from the Noordermeer Dijk.
The entire offshore wind farm, comprising forty eight 3 MW turbines, is expected to be ready by mid-February 2016.
