GDF SUEZ to Double Clean Energy Capacity by 2025, Focus on Marine Renewables

GDF SUEZ yesterday announced that it plans to double its renewable energy generation capacity in Europe from 8GW recorded in mid-2014 to 16GW by 2025.

The company said that it will especially focus its business on marine renewable sources. At the moment, most of GDF’s renewable operations are within hydropower, onshore wind and solar sectors. However, the company now plans to get the best out of offshore wind, tidal and seawater pump industries.

GDF SUEZ currently has 10GW of installed renewable energy capacity outside Europe, which it also aims to increase to 21GW by 2025.
