Halcyon Tidal Power is meeting with state and federal regulators in Bangor to discuss Pennamaquan renewable energy project.

Namely, the Augusta-based company plans to develop a USD 125 million tidal energy project in Cobscook Bay, capable of providing electricity for 13,000 homes. The project consists of 1500 foot Halcyon Enclosure at Pennamaquan Estuary comprising up to 17 Alstom Power turbines.

Halcyon Tidal Power is also holding a public meeting in Pembroke, Maine, tomorrow at the Pembroke Town Office.

The developer expects to complete the project in 2018.
