Bladt Assembles Nordsee Ost Substation

Yesterday, the two parts of the Nordsee Ost substation were assembled at Bladt Industries’ facilities in Aalborg, Denmark. Yesterday, the two parts of the Nordsee Ost substation were assembled at Bladt Industries’ facilities in Aalborg, Denmark.

By the use of four cranes and a lot of precision, the 400 tonnes heavy top piece was placed on the bottom part of the substation. The next step is to install two transformers, each weighing 160 tonnes. After that, the work of equipping the substation internally will commence.

The development of the project is on schedule, and the substation is set to be ready for use by July 2014.
