Sutton Bridge Parish Council is trying to get the best from Centrica’s offshore wind projects and protect its citizens and shore at the same time, as the Race Bank project development gears up.
After the cables were laid through the Sutton Bridge sea bank for Lincs offshore wind farm, the sea bank will yet again be ruptured to allow the installation of cables for the Race Bank offshore wind project, scheduled to start in the beginning of 2015. The cable laying for Lincs offshore wind farm has left a crack on the seaward side, which will be monitored for another three years to avoid its spreading. However, the Parish Council wants experts to keep an eye on the sea bank’s crack much longer, the Spalding Guardian writes.
Also, the Council is questioning Centrica’s approach to investing in Sutton Bridge, saying that other energy companies that have projects there are boosting the village’s financial situation.
The company commented that it plans to discuss this matter in further detail with the Council.
