Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical, based in the North-East of England, with offices in Aberdeen, launched a new and innovative subsea Trench ROV , Q1000 Jet Trencher, in Newcastle upon Tyne on October 4 2012.
The Q1000 is a modern free flying ROV jet trencher which can operate in water depths of up to 2000m and in a variety of soil conditions. The trencher has 1000hp installed power and ideally suited to the burial of rigid and flexible pipelines, umbilicals and cables for the oil & gas, renewables, power, telecommunications and subsea defence sectors, to 3m trench depth.
