Bureau Veritas Attends China Wind Power 2012

The Energy and Public Facilities Division of Bureau Veritas attended the China Wind Power 2012, an annual event for the wind power industry in China held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on November 15-17, 2012, attracting many visitors from the industry.

This is the 4th time that Bureau Veritas has attended China Wind Power. Apart from the routine mast and component inspection, civil construction technical support, lifting supervision, complete set manufacture supervision and installation, and commissioning inspection, Bureau Veritas focused on introducing 4 other services this time: the wind power generator set certification, project management support, in-service inspection, and offshore wind power technical support and inspection services.

Bureau Veritas and clients discussed problems faced by the wind power industry and the orientation of future development during the meeting, including those from generator manufacturers, owners, engineering companies, asset management companies, component suppliers, and repair companies. Mr. He Dexin, Chairman of World Wind Power Association and Chairman of China Wind Power Association, also came to Bureau Veritas’ booth.

According to the nature of the wind power industrial chain, Bureau Veritas offers “One-Stop Solutions” service package, including technical services as complete wind generator set/component inspection and manufacture supervision, complete wind generator and project certification, wind field project management, site quality, health, safety, and environment control, wind generator in-service and beyond-warranty inspection, wind generator and component import/export inspection, training and consultation, offshore wind power foundation certification and lifting inspection, supplier review, and risk evaluation.

As of July 2012, Bureau Veritas Wind Power has provided services to numerous domestic and foreign wind generator manufacturers and wind field owners, including the manufacture supervision of over 9800 wind power masts, technical support for construction of over 1666 wind generator foundations, and lifting supervision for over 1900 wind generators,. Bureau Veritas will continue to provide premium third party inspection and certification services for the development of the wind power industry in China.
