Hull will host the North Sea Offshore Wind conference on October 10, reports Yorkshire Post.

The Yorkshire and Humber is home to over 20 wind energy projects and centrally located to Britain’s three largest Round 3 offshore wind development zones – Dogger Bank, Hornsea and Norfolk.

The event will consist of a conference, brokerage event and gala dinner, and will bring together offshore wind professionals from the North Sea region to learn more about activities and opportunities in the region, provide updates from leading players in the sector, exchange knowledge and develop new partnerships to take advantage of this fast growth sector.

Director for Renewables Network, Sam Pick, said that around 25 companies from Norway and Denmark with 60 more from the UK are planning to visit the conference.

“We are trying to link the expertise that Norwegians and Scandinavians typically have offshore with local advantages which a lot of our smaller members have got. The real challenge for small businesses is how you grow with an industry that keeps growing rapidly and expects you to cut costs,” Mr. Pick added.
