Nordic Yards, manufacturer of technologically sophisticated and innovative special ships and maritime structures, will hire 40 new apprentices next year.

They will start in three different job types in Wismar and Warnemünde in September 2012. At the same time, the company will also offer contracts to almost all former apprentices who have successfully passed their examinations. They will be given permanent contracts. In 2011, 41 young people started training with Nordic Yards.

“We have already decided that we will hire 20 apprentices in Warnemünde and 20 apprentices in Wismar next year. This gives us ample time to look for young talents and attract the best of them to our shipbuilding yards. We look forward to meeting many interested candidates for the plant and construction mechanic as well as parts finisher trainings” , says Björn Cleven, Head of HR at Nordic Yards.

“Well-trained core staff is a key prerequisite for completing technologically challenging orders – such as ice-breaking ships or offshore projects” , stresses Fred G. Wegener, Technical Dockyard Director.

“Dedicated instructors and experienced colleagues teach our young colleagues their new craft. This in-depth training has helped all past apprentice generations in our company to earn good grades in their final examinations” , Björn Cleven continues.
