This year BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB) will participate for the first time at the EWEA Offshore 2011 event, the world’s most important exhibition in offshore wind energy.

The trade fair will be held from 29 November to 1 December in Amsterdam. BBB will share its stand with ep4 offshore, its partner in the processing of offshore projects (Hall 9, Booth # 9148).

BBB’s attendance at the event is a consequence of the growing number of orders processed by the wind energy consultants in the offshore sector. Particularly a number of major technical project assessments (due diligence) of offshore wind farms have been conducted lately.

As part of such a due diligence process, the entire technical documentation is examined and evaluated. Key issues are the revision of yield forecasts, electro technical concepts and other existing logistical, structural and operational concepts. In addition, all technical aspects of the relevant approvals and relevant licenses are checked as well as the associated assumptions about investment and operating costs (CAPEX/OPEX).

In addition to the expertise in the field of project assessments BBB offers further relevant consulting services at the offshore event. Thus, the accredited wind testing laboratory – which is part of BBB – offers reliable wind resource analysis. Further special offshore project expertise is available in the elaboration of electrical engineering concepts at the middle- and high-voltage level.

EWEA Offshore 2011 combines exhibition with an extensive conference program and will set a new record this year: At over 8,000 m² more than 400 exhibitors are registered – about 50 % more than at the last event in 2009. It is accordingly assumed that the number of visitors of 2009 (4,850 visitors) will be exceeded by far.
