What’s the role?
You will lead Shell’s UK regulatory affairs and policy for offshore wind and will support the UK business lead in this regard. You will create a key stakeholder overview and build up and maintain a network of key offshore wind stakeholders in the UK. In addition to this, you will also represent Shell in relevant offshore wind specific trade associations and help shape industry position to mature the offshore wind market.

Working closely with other power regulatory experts in Shell, you’ll monitor and influence national authorities on policy, regulatory and market design issues that have a potential impact on our business. You will also play a key part in the development activities to secure leases, routes to market, grid entry points and consents/licences for offshore wind projects.

Developing insights and identifying opportunities is just the start; we’ll also trust you to develop concrete plans to pursue them. That includes:

  • Collect best practices from other markets (other technologies and globally);
  • Lead and coordinate Shell’s input on consultations for offshore wind related areas;
  • Function as the local, policy and regulatory knowledge point for offshore wind and drive local position papers including alignment of views.

Requirements

What we need from you:
We’re looking for a self-motivated and responsible individual who can perform well under pressure. We require someone with an extensive and proven track record on regulatory affairs from the renewables sector. You’ll also need to be excellent in communication, both verbally and in writing, to effectively represent Shell towards senior external stakeholders.

Beyond that, we’re keen to see CVs include as many of the following as possible:

  • Strong external network, experience and insights relevant to new energy technology and business model development;
  • Accumulated years of experience in the regulatory environment in the UK, preferably in renewables;
  • Constant up to date knowledge of regulatory affairs that impacts offshore wind
